NOVEMBER 69: Year of everything erotic. Sylvie Vartan poses in a leather jumpsuit, photographed by Jeanloup Sieff. The image, ambivalent, expresses both innocence and passion in the artist of Qu‘est-ce qui fait pleurer les blondes. Above the shoulders, childlike styling, the star's look is what you would expect from a girl: Barbie earings for a traditional femininity, and the sulking face tops it off. From the neck down, however, it's a different story: Full leather, 'Straddling a horse' pose, biker rings worn like american knuckle-dusters. Not to mention her dominating glare down from above. The hot-blood is, like in her chart-topper - Comme un garçon -, taking on the role of the 'Idol of the Youth' [Johnny Hallyday, her husband], professional leather rebel. In this male-targeted "Fleurs du mâle" project, fetishistic wear is making a comeback, but now with a much more poisonous, 'bad girl', 'risqué' image. |
