"Popsy Pop" is an adventure film directed by Jean Herman. The script was written by Henri Charrière, better known as "Papillon", who took the opportunity to cast himself in a supporting role for what would be his sole appearance on the big screen. The action takes place in Venezuela. Despite mostly unfavorable reviews, this was a big budget movie, widely distributed around the world (as far as Japan) thanks to Claudia Cardinale who starred in it...
The film Premiere was also the first public appearance of Sylvie Vartan since the 20 December 1970. On that occasion, the last concert of her winter tour in Clamart*, Sylvie couldn't appear on stage after being struck with an unexpected illness and hospitalised urgently with suspected hepatitis. She had to cancel all her activities. * Clamard is a suburban city located near Paris. |
