In the 90s, Sylvie Vartan regularly appeared at the Cannes film festival to accompany her husband the producer Tony Scotti. In 1997 at the fiftieth edition of the festival she wore a designer Chanel dress, chosen from the 1997 spring-summer collection.

The "plume de coq" skirt, initially presented with a tweed jacket, slipped into an evening version with a black sequined shrug tied with a bow. In 2004, Sylvie Vartan called once more on Karl Lagerfeld for the outfits of her Palais des Congrès show.
